Privacy & Cookies
Last updated: 14 August 2026
You v World is designed to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. You can play the game without creating an account or providing your name.
What the game may collect
When the live results service is enabled, we may record information needed to produce anonymous game statistics, such as your selected country, the question set, your answers and the time a game was completed. We do not need your name to calculate these results.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics only if you choose “Accept analytics”. It helps us understand things such as how the site is used and which parts of the game are popular. If you reject analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded by You v World and the game continues to work.
Cookie and storage choices
We store your analytics choice in your browser so that we do not ask you on every visit. This setting is used to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. You can reopen the choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the site footer.
Question submissions
If we introduce player-submitted questions, the form will explain what information is collected and why before you submit it. We will not require a name just to suggest a question.
Sharing
If you choose to share a result, your device may open a sharing service or app selected by you. Those third-party services have their own privacy practices.
Hosting and service providers
You v World is hosted using Microsoft Azure. Optional site analytics are provided by Google Analytics after consent. These providers may process technical information needed to deliver their services.
How long information is kept
We aim to keep information only for as long as it is useful for operating the game, producing historical aggregate results, security, or meeting applicable legal obligations. We will review retention as the service develops.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the information involved and applicable data-protection law, you may have rights relating to personal information about you. Because game responses are intended to be stored without a name or account, it may not always be possible to connect an anonymous response back to a particular player.
Changes to this notice
We may update this page as You v World develops, particularly when the live results database, question submissions or other features are introduced. The date at the top will show when it was last updated.
